Enlightenment, awakening, whatever you want to call it, is not an achievement, a getting, an attaining. It’s simply; the complete collapse in the belief in the personal self. The “now” negates this false self utterly.

Everything is the stuff of awareness. Passing and changing. But everything is unique to this body/mind and this moment. Right now all that is expresses itself in the only way it can within the Presence you are. There is no other life but this. You are it. Nothing ever to seek. It is all here now.

People need gods they can believe and a reality they can negate.

Sometimes we just need to let the tears and love combine and discover the alchemy that arises in that magical moment.

What you feel craves the energy to be felt.

One day, when fear was young, he went out into the world and said “I need a public relations director” … on that day fear gave birth to God.

Nothing defines us. Only fear (the fear of being nothing) seeks a definition, a place to call his own.

I have often thought there is only one sin: Impatience. From impatience all human suffering flows. This is a truth so profound and so compelling that it qualifies as the only essential teaching.

Notice how, in each moment, a new personal identity is formed. This is how the false self sustains its existence.

You are here now. There is no one or nothing else here but you.

The world can be no other way than what it is right now. So thank goodness for pain, for without it, we would have already died for failing to notice it.

Stop “outsourcing” your responsibility for the world being as it is. Instead, start owning it all. After all, whatever you don’t own, owns YOU.

(From Chuck Hillig)
Someday you’re going to ask yourself why you reject who you are and want to be somebody else.

Explore most deeply those “spiritual truths” that most appeal to your fears.

The body and the mind conjure the miracle of existence on all of its many levels and unstoried witness is the mystery that engulfs it all.

Anytime you’re in a rush, notice that. Also notice that when you’re in a rush, everyone is your enemy

Everything you hear, see, touch, taste, feel and everywhere you are is the Buddha.

Your life happens only once: now.

Right now, all of the universe finds unity in you.

You are the universe, even if you think you’re not.

Everything leaves a track: consider the tracks left by your neglect … your invalidation.

Nothing in this life is free: consider the cost of everything that comes into your life.

People always seems to be seeking answers from others. Do your own explorations. Investigate. Find out what is really true. Question everything. If you give away your own direct authority, then you cultivate your own dependencies, addictions, and helplessness. The fact is, that truth only resides within you. No one can give it to you.

That which we refer to as “we” is separation in its essence. I am not you and you are not me. We are innately separate. And thus the dialectic of constant change just moves as it does — moving you and me around the pivot of life. We are ALREADY united as one on the levels of source, connection, and awareness. This is not a future event. It is now. If it isn’t now, then it can never be.

It is not possible to “improve” people. What people do is all just part of the human experience. We do what we do. If we stop isolating and separating what we project as “bad” from what we project as “good” then the full pictures emerges and we are That.

What if everything in the world were as conscious, as aware as you? How might that effect your sense of immediate experience the next time you bite into a hamburger … or even a carrot? What if the air had the same sense of beingness as you? Wouldn’t this change everything? I can’t imagine a more radical or liberating possibility. Starting right now, go about your day and act on the possibility that is true. Everything is alive. Everything is conscious. Everything is aware … as alive, as aware, as conscious are you yourself.

Our body is the earth. Our thoughts are the clouds. Awareness is the light that sees and unites them as One.

Thought is a shadow. As inexorable as any shadow. But illusion is believing we are, exclusively, the shadow. Belief can have it no other way for it too is thought and can know only the shadow as itself. But we are not only the shadow, but the light that sees the shadow and knows that it is both.

Consider this. All of this talk about enlightenment and awakening. Let’s turn our attention around. What or who is it that is seeking? You gotta figure that one out first. Ask yourself who is seeking?  Overtime you will discover that it is an “identity” that is seeking. It’s a particularly sticky identity because it is with that thought cluster with which you identify as who you are. But that is false. But the more you look, the more you question, you will eventually discover that it’s just a belief, like any other belief, except that this one seems more powerful. Then ask yourself this: WHY is this particular thought cluster more powerful than others? That question will return you to your personal identity. It’s a loop. The more you watch the loop, the power it has over you will begin to wane. And here’s the outcome. Are you ready? You will CEASE needing to be anyone. You will see through all identities. You will shed yourself of any psychological identity. That’s why I keep on saying I DON’T CARE!!!!! I really don’t have a psychological identity that I need to defend, but more importantly, I don’t need a new and better and enightened identity to put on and show the world and myself. That struggle to be something or someone is ended and it’s ended for good.

The Buddha said that nirvana is the cessation of desire. When you stop needing to be anyone, you no longer have any desire to be something or someone. That is the way.

Anyone who sells hope, tranquility, or transcendence is a huckster — either in self denial or downright snake oil sales. A free person neither sells nor buys. She is who she is and makes no apologies for that. She doesn’t need hope, tranquility, or transcendence. She is alive right now, right here in whatever form that takes.
